Our Story: More Than Three Decades of Innovation and Growth

For more than three decades, we have helped customers solve complex challenges across the construction, oil and gas, environmental, waste treatment, industrial, and biosolid markets. As our capabilities, team, and footprint have grown, our focus has remained the same: delivering innovative solutions, building lasting relationships, and supporting customers with the materials, service, and expertise they rely on.
Get back to work with less downtime.
1994: The Idea That Started It All
Every company has a story. Ours began with an idea sketched out on the back of a cocktail napkin.
What started as a small operation with two owners and two employees was built on entrepreneurial spirit and hard work. More than 30 years later, that small startup has grown into a company of more than 100 employees serving customers across the United States, but our commitment to relationships, innovation, and service remains at the heart of who we are.
1999: Innovation Takes Shape with Calciment®
As we grew, so did our commitment to innovation. A major milestone came in 1999 with the trademarking of Calciment®, the brand name for our Lime Kiln Dust (LKD) products used to help modify, stabilize, and strengthen soils and waste materials.
While the trademark represented an important step for the company, the real achievement was building trust in the market. Over time, Calciment® became a recognized name throughout the industry, helping customers solve challenging site conditions and establishing Mintek as a leader in soil stabilization solutions.
Early 2000s: Building the Foundation
As we entered the new millennium, Mintek remained a small but ambitious organization. With a lean team, many processes were handled manually, and employees often wore multiple hats to keep the business moving forward.
What we lacked in size, we made up for through determination, strong customer relationships, and a willingness to tackle new opportunities. During this time, we expanded our customer base, strengthened our presence in existing markets, and continued building relationships across our Midwest, Central, and East regions, laying the foundation for the growth that would follow.
2010 & 2018: Evolving the Brand
As Mintek expanded, our brand evolved with us. While our original logo remains an important part of our history, updated logos introduced in 2010 and 2018 marked new chapters in our journey, reflecting the company’s continued growth and evolution.
While our visual identity changed over time, our mission remained the same: Providing exceptional service to meet customer needs by building loyal relationships with our partners through an innovative distribution model and development of market-specific, high quality, sustainable materials.
2018: Joining the Carmeuse Family
One of the most significant milestones in our history came in 2018 when we joined the Carmeuse family.
This partnership brought additional resources, technical expertise, and access to more than 160 years of experience in lime and limestone products. It created new opportunities for growth while allowing us to continue to build on the culture, values, and customer relationships that have fueled our success.
2019: Expanding into New Territories
In 2019, we entered a new phase of geographic expansion, strengthening our presence across the Southeast and Southwest regions while extending into states such as Alabama and Mississippi. As infrastructure activity continued to grow across the South, we were well positioned to support contractors with innovative materials and technical expertise.
This expansion allowed us to serve more customers, enter new markets, and support a broader range of projects. It also strengthened our ability to provide flexible material solutions across a larger footprint.
2024: Introducing Construction Quicklime (CQL)
In 2024, we introduced Construction Quicklime (CQL), a product specifically engineered for the construction market, designed to enhance[PL1] efficiency and ease of use compared to traditional quicklime. Featuring a reduced mellow period of four hours or less, CQL helps crews return to work faster while maintaining the performance needed for soil drying and stabilization applications. This launch continued our commitment to helping customers address project challenges with practical, innovative solutions.
2025: Expanding Our Reach
In 2025, we reached another significant milestone through the acquisition of Omni Materials. Omni brought more than 25 years of experience in calcium-based reagents and logistics solutions, along with one of the largest networks of material terminals. By combining forces, we’ve strengthened our distribution network, expanded our logistics capabilities, and increased our ability to provide reliable material availability across a broader geographic region.
2026 and Beyond: Looking Ahead
Today, Mintek Resources combines more than three decades of industry experience with a growing footprint, an expanded product portfolio, and a dedicated team of more than 100 dedicated employees.
As we look ahead, we remain committed to delivering innovative solutions, strengthening partnerships, and continuing to grow alongside the industries and communities we serve.
None of this would have been possible without the people who have been part of our journey. To our employees, customers, carriers, and partners, thank you for your trust, support, and collaboration over the past 30+ years. We are proud of what we’ve accomplished together and look forward to building the next chapter together.
